At least on this occasion, no blame can be attributed to Louis. Whereas in previous shows I've carped that, perhaps, our erstwhile host has allowed himself to become a little too close to his subject matter, it was clear from the off that Max Clifford was not going to allow that to happen. Indeed, Max seemed to be at pains to remain as detached as possible during the film - or as detached as one can be when Louis and crew are mirroring your every move. Ultimately unfulfilling, the programme served no real purpose other than to reinforce the widely held negative views we have of Max.
From the start, it was obvious that Max Clifford wasn’t going to give the Louis a easy ride. Clifford would be willing to manipulate this relationship with the media to his advantage; he wasn’t going to let Louis have the upper hand
As the documentary progress, it seemed like Max Clifford used his skills as a PR person to try and create his own image. All the false stories in the media that Max had something to do with was cleverly presented in the documentary (by Max) as true.
Upon the first meeting, Clifford stated to Louis that to be his client the chemistry and relationship is essential for Max to do his best work, Max also told Louis that if he took liberties then he would bite back (in the form of a nasty story in the paper)
Throughout the show, it was obvious that Max was trying to be bigger than Louis and wasn’t prepared to put his own image on the line.

Max who does publicity for Simon Conwell was depicted in the show as manipulating the media to his advantage, it seemed like he does his best to protect and “look” after the clients he has.
Max who has arranged many front covers was also seen on the documentary as creating his own reality, as he presented obvious lies as true.
It also seemed in the documentary that Clifford’s relationship with the press was good, and he seemed very at ease with them- even offering to do a television interview.
In terms of this material and the depiction of Max Clifford I feel that to some extent the job of PR was shown however I don’t really believe that PR is all about creating a made up reality like the documentary depicted, I think the PR industry has to have certain ethics in order to be truthful to its publics.
